Reviews
From: The Oxford Times 3 September 2004In The Life of Jesus Through the Eyes of an Artist, painter Paul Forsey takes a fresh look at the biblical stories, with the aim of changing the way children understand the New Testament, writes Maggie Hartford.
Four Advent scenes with a contemporary feel, commissioned by the Oxford Diocese, were so successful that Forsey was asked to paint another 18 events in Jesus's life for this book.
Intended for children aged seven to 11, the book's text is taken directly from Bible passages in contemporary English selected by Jo Fageant, Oxford diocesan adviser for religious education.
She has also written a teacher's guide with David Barton, a former headteacher who is a former chair of governors at Isis Middle School in Oxford.
