Champions!
Champions uses the analogy of the Olympic games to explore how Jesus 'ran the race' for God. It is designed to encourage children also to run that race, running straight towards the goal and finishing the race in order to win the ultimate prize of eternal life. This is the prize that God offers to each one of us through the work of his Son, Christ Jesus.
The five Bible stories are taken from the life of Jesus in the Gospels and link into the memory verses, which all come from the Epistles.
The ideas in this book can also be adapted for all-age worship, junior church and after-school / midweek clubs.
John Hardwick works under the banner of 'Counties' and 'Children Wordwide' in schools, churches and at outreach events, where his skills in clowning, juggling, uni-cycling, songs and storytelling are a proven success. John leads 'Creative Communications' training events for children's workers, worship leaders, family/all-age services and holiday clubs, and family and children's sessions at Spring Harvest, Easter People and other events. He is a member of the Barnabas Live team and co-author of the holiday club section in Out of the Toybox (BRF 2002). He is also author of the holiday club resource We're going on a Jungle Jamboree (BRF, 2003).
