Wells again!

A great privilege again to join the professional team at Wells Cathedral to be among those welcoming 2000 (yes, two thousand) Year 6 children to the cathedral over a period of six days. The storytelling workshop had a strong Barnabas input, with Bob Hartman working his wonders on two days, Robin Sharples who was a very early Barnabas author, on another two days and me for the remaining two. We bounced happily through three stories together as we explored the theme of 'community', a subject dear to Jesus' heart. Using the story of the two builders as a starting point, or foundation stone, we reflected on all the brilliant foundations our primary schools had given us. We went on to explore the theme of making or breaking community through the story of the Lost Sons and finished up with the Parable of the Sower, thinking about the effect that we would like our lives to have on the world around us - perhaps even transforming the little we are given into a hundred times more than we started out with.

As ever the days were a model of organization and inspiration and it's no wonder that the Cathedral have had to keep on expanding year after year to be able to give places to all the schools that want to come.
