Drama in SouthwellLucy Moore |
||
Martyn had prepared the ground well by leading this
joint teacher / clergy training day in Southwell for the last two years, so the
expectation was high. It was a smallish group of about 15 people and we worked
very hard all day, concentrating on using drama in RE and collective worship.
We explored some warm-ups and imagination builders, then enjoyed a romp through
different generic techniques. A pause for a superb lunch (why aren't I the size
of a whale with all this wonderful Christian hospitality?) and we dived into
ideas for performance in collective worship, including stories and encouraging
the children to perform their ideas. There were some magnificent worship sculptures on the Prodigal Son and
once more the marvellous pictures from The Life of
Jesus through the Eyes of an Artist came into their own as we brought
them to life. A fun day with a wide range of experience in different fields
from the different delegates. |
