Baptism, Confirmation and Communion |
||
The celebration of a child's first Holy Communion is a very special event for the whole family. This book not only commemorates the occasion but takes the reader through the stages of God's relationship with him or her as outlined in the Bible. The author shares how much Jesus loves all who come to him at the beginning of that very special friendship.
The first part examines what it means for the congregation to meet as a worshipping community, through six all-age workshops or activity mornings. The second part comprises a six-session course designed to help young people live out the Eucharist in daily life.
This book revises and refreshes both the text and the design of Margaret Withers' hugely popular and successful course book, Welcome to the Lord's Table, first published in 1999. The course book material covers all the key elements of what it means to be on the Christian journey and helps the child, together with his or her family and the congregation as a whole, to move towards the child's Holy Communion. The material is divided into ten units, with four opportunities to mark the journey with the worshipping community as the course progresses.
There is an accompanying activity book for children to complete alongside the course.
Covers the basics of Christian teaching and discipleship as a preparation for confirmation or church membership.
